On March 25th, the Brazilian all-girl band, Nervosa visited Budapest together with the extreme metal’s two main bands, Suffocation and Venom Inc. The show was in Barba Negra Music Club.
We have previously written a bulletin about this party.
Now let’s come the great mood interview with the band’s singer and bass player, Fernanda.

- What is it for Nervosa’s rapid success and popularity?
“I don’t know, I think just people like our music, because we don’t boring anything new in our music but it’s just a mix of everything we like to listen. Everything we put in our music is a mix of our favorite features on music we listening to. So I think like just like the same thing we like. And also of course I been like an all girl group it’s something that still new it’s changing of course is main in Latin America but this is also future, our feature that’s people attention somehow. But I think it’s basically that people just like the songs.”
2. How happened that your first demo came out via two big publishers?
“Our first EP in Brazil was released independently, but like we release it our first Luanita Hassanic. (Laugh) We released our first videoclip and then we sent that to Smir from Destruction and he posted on his Facebook and right after that we got an e-mail from Napalm Records which was very surprised us so we think that something connected to Smir and Destruction and his post and everything and they getting touch with us they work together with Nuclear Blast like on releasing stuff so that was a huge think for us we would never expect that so they we released our EP that we released independently in Brazil and just kept going on to the album and everything, but it’s really surprise for us. But it could be any better for us like they trust our music the same way yes we do I think that’s really important.”
- Can we know something about the new record?
“I think it’s too early cause we haven’t announced anything about it, but some details will start showing up this week, but I can’t say that. We recorded it in January and February and it’s gonna be out in June, so next time when you’re up it’s gonna be out already and I can’t definitely say is a way more mature album, songs are more mature, theere a little bit faster and more agressive also, because of our new drummer, Luana. She is from the death metal, she comes from the death metal band so we use a little bit of her technic to bring more agressiveness to our music and well our lable loves it, we like it so I think that’s gonna be a good one. That’s everything I can tell advanced nothing else unfortunately. (Laugh) But it’s too recent, but things all might change so thats why.”

- Are you at the first time in Hungary?
“No this is actually our third time. We came twice last year. First time last year was this with Destruction in January or February, it was really nice, that was our first time here we’ve got very warm reception from the fans like many people knew us already and then we came headlining of course a smaller gig, but it was pact, it was really really nice and are we here on the third time and it’s gonna be a nice show tonight in this awesome venue it’s gonna be cool.”
- What do you want to achieve in your career?
“Well, I think there are so many things like we’ve concrete a lots of far, we are really happy with what we’ve got, but I think it’s still many things to achieve like there is always the special bands you wanna tour with, there are so many festivals we wanna playin’ and this is we wanna aimed the most now we wanna play some festivals and places we haven’t before like for example Asia, we’ve never been to Asia, Wacken, Hellfest, we’ve never played on those Fests, so this is the main focus right now I think and also like together tour with the bands that we love that are idols for us so this should be our next goals and of course that everyone likes our next album.” (Laugh)
- How difficult or easy the dedication and taking photos with the fans after the concerts?
“I mean we can definitely feel the difference whenever we talking or taking photos whatever to fans in Latin America for example in Europe and in US for example like you can feel this in the crowd by the way they watch the concert and after the show also I mean in Latin America meaning Brazil they have very passionate like they are really crazy during the concert and after the show like whooaaa!! There are always people on the front of Hotel, that stuff like that and front of the venues like they’re like tramling when they are talking to you, that’s happens a lot in Latin America. Here in Europe it’s different. After the show everyone wants to talk about the show. Wants to talk to you like: „Do you wanna drink, let’s we go to the bar and have a talking about metal or whatever” it’s different. But, all of them are special. Thats why we are always talking to the fans after I don’t think it’s any difficult at all, but of course there is a lot of people then there is gotta be some control or some organization, but it’s will be alright, we just go there and talk to the fans sign some cards and taking photos drink some shit and that’s all.”

- Which bands would you like to tour together? Who are the idols?
“Well, I would love together tour with Slayer, but they gonna do their farewell tour now, not gonna be a possibility anymore, that got me so frustrated, cause I have this like maybe one day we gonna open before them, but it’s not gonna happen. So we really don’t know there are so many bands we love and we would like to tour with like maybe Soden, Behemoth. Oh my God, I would love to tour with Behemoth, I love Nergal which like we love. But I think my next goal something really would like to have, it’s touring with Sepultura. They are a great band and I really love to tour with them. It would be awesome.”
- What themes gives you inspirations when you writing the songs?
“Well living in Brazil, unfortunately gives us a lot of inspirations to us we always talk about bothers and daily routine like people on mainly society and living in Brazil it’s super hard. I love my country, a bits I love it. That’s my favorite place in the world. But unfortunately it’s a pretty fucked up economically and socially so we get a lot of inspirations from that like from what we see on the news everyday like about corruption and about people dying in Hospital isles like drog trafficing and people getting drug because of that and education that’s fucked up so all of this gives us unfortunately inspirations.”
9. How was the tour with Pokerface?
“It was ok, it was nice we always like touring in Russia. The fans somehow there a little bit like the Brazilians, the Brazilians like there crazy passionate. And it was cool, we share I guess I don’t remember how many gigs were with them. But, pretty nice people, pretty nice. (Laugh). We were not travelling together so we didn’t have many chances to talk everyday or whatever, but still they were very nice people.”
Thanks for the interview and good luck for the future.
“Thank you, thank you so much Mateusz.”
