Arch Enemy’s Will To Power album was released on September 8th 2017, and the album has been successful ever since. This is the second record recorded by the Swedish team with the Canadian Alissa White-Gluz. In the days, Duke TV made an interview with Michael Amott, the guitarist of the band who betrayed that Alissa had a range of opportunities for them.
“The Will To Power album is not a concept album, it has many topics, and although our music has always been darker, I feel more diverse than the previous one (War Eternal, released in 2014). the light at the end of the tunnel, where there are wonderful melodies and hope.”
The song entitled Reason To Believe on the CD is the first in the history of the band, where we can hear not only growls: Alissa sings in almost five-lane, pure mezzosopran voice.
Michael talked about this:
“I wrote the song with my brother, Chris, first for instrumental version, then writing lyrics, I showed it to Alissa and she really liked it, and it was a whole new thing for me, and I’ve got a lot of favorite ensembles: Black Sabbath, Judas Priest or Iron Maiden. These bands also have ballads that show their deeper side.”
The musician also made a few words about his commitment to music:
“I grew up in Thrash and Death Metal before I started Arch Enemy. I wanted more guitar and more melodic music. Alissa’s arrival could have given more space than ever, and her voice is very versatile.”
