Juha Raivio (Swallow the Sun, ex-Trees Of Eternity), Gas Lipstick (ex-HIM) and Tomi Joutsen (Amorphis) announced that their album, No Stars Upon The Bridge, has finally appeared on the finnish Svart Records. The album “Trees Of Eternity Hour Of The Nightingale” was released in November last year, with singer Aleah Stanbridge, who died on April 18, 2016.
From Hallatar’s release we can listen and check Mirrors and My Mistake with Aleah’s good friend, swedish Draconian’s singer, Heike Langhans.
In the final song of the album, has made from Aleah’s demo and the chorus sings by Aleah. Juha, Aleah’s partner, plans to release a postumus album from Aleah’s demos.
As you know, after the death of Juha Raivio’s love he collected Aleah’s songs. At first he did not want to continue playing in the pain, but the fans gave him strength and he felt like he was so fond of making a memoir of her poems. Two well-known musicians, Tomi Joutsen (Amorphis) and Gas Lipstick (ex-HIM), were also invited to the project. The name of the project is Hallatar, which was taken by Juha from a song previously written by Swallow The Sun.
There are 9 tracks on the album, Juha wrote the songs in 1 week and sworn that it would not change them later. The first single was the Mirrors, with video being rotated. The record is a big success in pre-ordering.
The album was released on October.
The new music video that was shooted for My Mistake was also released and featured by Heike Langhans, Draconian singer, one of Aleah’s best friend.
Juha about the video:
“My Mistake was filmed on two very bright autumn days in Finland and Sweden, with parts of Sweden recorded with Heike on Aleah’s favorite places and one of her horses. We really felt Aleah’s presence in the wind in October and we feel that this relationship is present in the video as well. After all, this clip is about the relationship between the two worlds. Death is never really the end, it’s only a gateway between the two worlds. There is nothing that love can not keep open. “
Aleah Liane Stanbridge died last year at the age of 39. Juha worked with her in the Trees of Eternity band. Unfortunately, the album could only appear after the death of the singer in the care of Svart Records.
In 2009, she met with Juha, but unfortunately, happiness did not long. In 2013 Aleah diagnosed with cancer, but she struggled to the end and the publication was recorded as well.
On April 18, 2016 Aleah gave up the fight.
Track by Track:
The opening of the album and the first music video, Mirrors. The song is a very depressive mood song.
Tomi’s growl makes it even more frightening. The song is perceived by the pain of the beloved loss.
02. Raven’s Song:
Heike Langhans, the Draconian singer, contributes to the album. Raven’s Song is not really a song, but Heike recites the poem of Aleah.
Heike Langhans (Draconian) Aleah’s best friend
The song starts with pleasant melodies, and then Tomi’s painful fullness melts these melodies.
There is a sense of pain in the song after a loved one’s loss.
04. My Mistake:
The song is the second music video. The song is featured by Draconian singer Heike Langhans, Aleah’s best friend. The song is based on very pleasant musical foundations. The verses are sing by Heike, while the choruses are Tomi. After the second verse, there is a beautiful protruding part, followed by a painful part that cuts out in the chorus.
Heike recites again with a very nice piano accompaniment Aleah’s poem, Pieces.
06. Severed Eyes:
Once again, there is a beautiful guitar-song which Tomi sings on Aleah’s lyrics on his clear voice with nice singing.
07. The Maze:
Synthesist melodies introduce the song followed by a very hard doom metal melodies and Tomi’s growls.
With the slow tempo of the song, it creates an awesome atmosphere in the listener.
08. Spiral Gate:
Heike recites again. In the background it sounds like blowing a wind.
Aleah Stanbridge (1976-2016)
09. Dreams Burn Down:
The last song of the album produced by Juha from Aleah’s demo.. The song starts and unfolds from the previous track.
The song starts with bells, remembering Aleah, and then the voice of a choir is heard. Like we were in a church. This followed by Juha’s pleasing guitar. With Tomi’s frustration, the verse becomes anxious. This released by Aleah’s beautiful voice in the chorus.
In the Bridge again appears Tomi and sings a very percussive part. This followed by Aleah’s chorus, which is followed by a pleasant closure at the end of the song.
We hope you’ve been able to enjoy the album, which you can listen to on Soundcloud on the Svart Records’ profile, but it can also be ordered from the publisher.
